William H. Rehnquist:

The opinions of the Court in two cases No. 86-622, Traynor against Turnage and a companion case No. 86-1461, Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation versus Florida Gulf Coast Building Trades Council will be announced by Justice White.

Byron R. White:

The opinion in the Traynor case actually covers two cases, and for the reasons stated in opinion that we have filed the judgment of the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit is reversed and remanded, and the judgment of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is affirmed.

Justice Blackmun has filed an opinion concurring in part and dissenting in part in which Justices Brennan and Marshall have joined.

Justices Scalia and Kennedy did not participate in these cases.
