Audi Car Manufacturing Complex

Audi AG is a car manufacturing company founded in the year 1910 at Zwickau, Germany by a German engineer and an automobile pioneer named August Horch. In September 1921, Audi became the first German car manufacturer to present a production car, the Audi Type K, with left-handed drive. The left-handed drive then became popular because it gives better view of the incoming traffic. The company had been one of the leading brands in the car industry in the world for over a century and -still counting. Volkswagen AG is the largest share holder in the Audi AG Company and it introduced the Audi brand to the United States for the 1970 model year.

The proposed car manufacturing company will be the first German car brand to have its production in the Philippines. It will boost the nation’s economy, giving jobs to many Filipinos. Another advantage is that it will make the Audi car brand more available and less expensive compared that when it is being imported from other parts of the world. Today Audi cars are being imported under the initiative of Robert Coyiuto Jr, Chairman and CEO of the Coyiuto Group of Companies & PGA Cars Inc. The company is the sole importer and distributor of Porsche and Audi automobiles in the Philippines.

The company’s integrity and trademark for quality and superior engineering should not be sacrificed. The cars that will be produced would still be engineered by the German pioneers. A residential area will be allotted for them in the complex that will make it accessible for them to go to work. The complex will also boast new sustainable technologies that will open the nation’s eyes for global awareness. And it will showcase the Audi Company’s commitment, innovation through technology.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Audi AG Company, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen AG Company is now one of the largest companies in terms of car production. Its production started in Germany and has already branched out in nations like China, Brazil, India, Belgium, and Hungary. The car brand is best known for its luxury, and superb engineering.

The company is starting to make a name when it comes to efficiency and sustainable designs, in terms of their cars and their car production factories. The company is also permanently researching on new ways to save the environment. Today, the Audi Company has started their advocacy by planting English oaks in their sites. This tree helps enhance biodiversity and it is also good in absorbing CO2 emissions.

To underpin this interdisciplinary and highly complex responsibility, AUDI AG created Audi Stiftung für Umwelt GmbH (the Audi Environmental Foundation) as a non-profit-making company. The core requirement governing the activities of Audi Stiftung für Umwelt GmbH is that they represent voluntary action in ecological, social and economic spheres and go beyond the scope of legal obligations.

Audi cars are considered to be a status symbol for the upper class all over the world, especially in the Philippines where cars are usually symbols for luxury and most of the expensive cars always have an added cost for importation. In the Philippines, the sole importer of the Audi cars is the PGA Cars Inc. owned by Robert Coyiuto Jr. In nations where Audi is produced, many people get to afford and enjoy one.

Large companies like the Audi AG Company can also help supplement an economy through employments. Having the Audi Company produced in the Philippines will be a big step in the economy’s growth. It will also create opportunity for skilled Filipino engineers to be part of the Audi’s legacy. The study aims to show that the complex is feasible enough to be built in the country. It will determine the advantages of having a large car production complex in the country and how it will benefit the Filipino people and the nation as well.
