Speech on "Boy"

I enjoyed reading “Boy”. The adventurous story’s Dahl recounted were interesting for readers of all ages. THANK YOU

I noticed that in this autobiography, Dahl only recounts the most exciting of storys of his childhood, there isn’t much sad or boring storys. Although all the storys he recounts are exciting, they all sound credible. As this this autobiography is a children’s book, there isn’t much access to the internal life of Dahl, not much feelings, and thoughts were expressed.

In this autobiography, Dahl writes a lot about his fascination for sweets and his love for the local sweet shop. He explained that regardless of the fact that the localsweet shop owner is a rotten old lady, it doesn’t stop him from buying sweets because of his love for them.

The next day at school, a special assembly is organized at their school, set up by the dreaded Mr Coombes. It turns out Mrs Pratchett, had made a complaint to the school about “thieves” and “loiterers” coming into her sweet shop. Eventually, the boys got caught out for their prank. They were caned by Mr Coombes as a punishment, while Mrs. Pratchett watched, laughing.

“The Great Mouse Plot” began when Dahl and his mates stumbled upon a dead mouse and a “marvelous” idea forms in Dahl’s head. They placed a dead mouse in Mrs Pratchetts gobstopper jar while his friend named “Thwaites” distracted her by buying sweets. “The Great Mouse Plot” began when Dahl and his mates stumbled upon a dead mouse and a “marvelous” idea forms in Dahl’s head. From the age of seven, Roald attended Llandaff Cathedral School in Cardiff, Wales. He and his friends had a grudge against the local sweet-shop owner, Mrs. Pratchett, a sour, elderly widow. He described her as vile person who gave no thought to hygiene.

Many particularly interesting events are recounted by Dahl in his autobiography, but one that intrigued me most was what he called “The Great Mouse Plot”.

The autobiography I read over the holidays had interesting and humorous tales of a childhood. I’m talking about the book “Boy” by Roald Dahl, it describes his life from birth until leaving school, focusing on living conditions in Britain in the 1920s and 1930s, the public school system at the time, and how his childhood experiences led him to writing as a career.
