Cost/Financial AssumptionsThe total amount of funds authorized for the project is $2,750,000 for site procurement, construction, equipment, raw materials, truck fleet and recruitment of personnel.
User Acceptance Criteria/QualityThe project goal is to construct and put into production a new plant within the specified time period and budget. To meet this goal, a site must be located and procured; the building must be constructed and supplied with equipment and materials to begin production. Managers and personnel must be recruited and trained to implement production and distribution.
Major RisksRisks include construction start up delays due to the difficulties obtaining permits and approvals. The construction industry is at a low point due to the recent economy, therefore increased competition will provide an opportunity to find a contractor at low cost. The current job market also presents an opportunity as many will be looking for jobs. Raw materials will be at a premium but costs savings in plant construction and hiring will assist in offsetting those higher costs.
