Municipal government councilors

In fact, it is not necessary, sometimes failure of the implementation of a policy does not means that the policy was wrongly designed and was against the needs of the people. However, in some situations the implementation of the policy are so much delayed that it becomes oblivious before even being fully implemented. Hence, “evidence base policy” making and its implementation is encouraged. This is because there it facilitates formation of policy on the basis of knowledge and past experience.

Although, this type of policy making is criticized of being too much experimental yet it is a helpful way to form, design, implement and evaluate a policy. Policies designed on the basis of evidence are easier to be evaluated. If the evaluation of a policy suggests that the policy is good and appropriate. This means the policy makers have worked hard to make a policy according to the demand and need of the people. However, politicians are against the usage of “evidence base policy making.

It will impede their aims and objectives and loosen their control on the local people. (Wayne, 2005) With the assistance of “experimental Techniques” policy makers can design and implement policies on the basis of past experiences. These empirical consequences support proper examination and identification of newly advertised public policies, which were previously examined on the basis of casual theory. Moreover, the empirical study leads to the introduction of many different public policies which will raise the “efficiency” of the policy makers and policy followers.

Economy based idea in the public policy helps the government to found, structure an implement the desired researched data. Today, youngsters have the ability to influence and change the existing public policies into much effectively implement able policies. Most of the time public polices are made by the official elected by the people to a specific post. It helps to define the working of a particular department and official. Proper knowledge of existing polices is very much necessary to introduce new policies.

Public policy making process is different in different states/countries. In “Municipal government councilors, mayors and managers” are involve to resolve budget related other daily policy matters. In “County government the commissioner and the manager” are directly responsible to resolve the policy matters. In “State governments the legislative committee, representative house, senate and governor” are all key bodies involved in the formulation and change of the Public Policies.

(Michael et al, 2001) Media and direct communication and involvement of the public play a very crucial role in formulation and implementation of any new policy and the deduction of the existing policy rules. It means that it is very difficult for a single person to change the existing policy but it seem easier for a group of people and organizations to change the existing public policies by adopting a joint stance against it.

(Michael et al, 2001) Nowadays governments are paying more attention to the functioning and control of cities and towns, as a result of which the many traits of public policies have blocked easy solutions to the policy based problems. Instead properly developed strategies are required to solve these problems at the governmental level. In fact these problems can only be solved with the concern and support of the government department. (Neil, 2005)

The existence of problems and discrepancies in the public policies means that these policies are not competent enough to resolve the “social, economic and learning needs” of the people. On the whole it seems that the adaptation of a novel strategy in public policy making can only changes and enhances the government’s decision making abilities. Direct communication with people and providing them rooms to interact in the policy making can emerged to be helpful. Most of the economists and researchers emphasize the need of this type of communication to facilitated development of the public policies.

The governmental official elected from local people will understand the government’s stance as well as will represent the local people in the formation of the public policies. In short one can say he will mediate between both local people and government paving way for desirable solutions. (Neil, 2005) Sound democracies are those in which at least some room is given to the public demands in the public policy. Public must make available their demands and wants to the government if they want the public policies to be designed accordingly.

However, fact is that most of the people never bother to inform authorities about their demands and needs. In fact people are so apt that they don’t even bother to study the policy sketch presented by a candidate and elect him on the basis of his ancestral achievements. These people are those who have never visit the local areas and town and thus are unaware of the wants of the people. It is suggested that media play a crucial role in keeping government abreast of the demands and necessities of the local people. (David, 1995)
