Criteria is standards for evaluating something Economic System is how a society organizes the production distribution and consumption of goods and services. Governance is the process of governing. Issue is a topic that connects to citizenship, identity, and quality of life, and on which well informed people have different views and perspective. Opinion is a personal reaction to an issue. Perspective is values and ideas shared by people with a common language culture and history. Point of View is opinions and preferences of an individual based on a personal experience.

Political System is the structure of government. Quality of life is a collection of personal and collective well-being. Rights are what individuals and groups are allowed to do in a society, usually established in a law. Society is a social system where a group of people share a common geographic region, sense of common identity, and culture and who participate in shared political and economic institutions for a communal purpose or interest. Unbiased is without preconceived ideas. A GOVERNMENT is a machinery set up by individuals to enable them to do what others cannot do on their own.

Without some form of government, there would be no order or protection for people and their property. A governments basic task is to make a set of laws to allow people in a society to live together in peace and security. A government makes sure that laws are obeyed and sets up punishments or penalties that protects the interests of the people as a whole against the greed or ambition of any one person or group. CONSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURE 1. CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY : Britian’s Queen or King is the formal head of state in Canada, but DOES NOT play an active role in decisions.

The GOVERNER GENERAL is the monarch’s representative in Canada. 2. FEDERAL SYSTEM: Canada has 3 levels of government. FEDERAL(Ottawa), PROVINCIAL(Edmonton),and LOCAL(Ponoka). Each has a various of responsibility. 3. PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCERACY: Each area of the country has a representative. They are voting in during an election and then go to a central location(ex. Ottawa) to make decisions as a group. (ex. House of Commons) 4. PARTY SYSTEM: The people elected belong to a political party. Each part has different beliefs on how the country or provinces should be run.

MINORITY VS. MAJORITY GOVERNMENT -Minority government means the governing party has less than half the 308 seats. -Majority government means the governing party has more than half the 308 seats.
