I. INTRODUCTION Looking around for a curious print advertisement, this Mercedes-Benz blind spot assistant ad coughs my attention. To start I am an automotive fan. Cars now days have become like cellphones and computer that every two to three months a newest, more intelligence, and faster model come out, the car business is not an exemption. What got my attention is the way they promote a single feature of the car using graphics that go direct to the point of the ad.

The feature is a blind spot assistant system that alerts the driver of the car about another cars or objects near the driver blind spots. II. CONTEXT AND DESCRIPTION OF ADVERTISEMENT It was published in November 6, 2012. The target audience is for high middle class workers and wealthy people. Mercedes-Benz is a multinational division of the German manufacturer Daimler AG, and the brand is used for luxury automobiles, buses, coaches, and trucks. Mercedes-Benz is headquartered in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The name first appeared in 1926 under Daimler-Benz but traces its origins to Daimler’s 1901 Mercedes and to Karl Benz’s 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen, widely regarded as the first automobile. The ad present a mature gentleman face looking sideways but with the help of computer graphics the same silhouette showing the gentlemen looking sideways present the same person looking forward. With the promo “Look to the side without looking to the side”, go hand by hand with the picture of the gentleman. Is a simple ad with a basic light blue background, the picture, the promo, and at the bottom the logo of Mercedes-Benz.

III. ANALYSIS OF RHETORICAL APPEALS I believe the company when with reasoning appeal. With the promo of look to the side without looking to the side they emphasized in the feature of the blind spot assistant that alerts the driver of nearby objects in the car blind spots. IV. CONCLUSION Mercedes-Benz with a creative ad, show the customer in a simple way one of the many features that come with the purchase of one of the brand cars. Most of the time the best way to say something is with the simplest way.
