Effets of Improper Garbage in Tambacan

Living near the garbage will experience health problems of the communities. Garbage is what someone leaves behind that they do not want to use anymore. It is also called as waste, and sometimes rubbish. Health is the possible major problems of those people who lived in that kind of area. But most of the common problem of the community is not only about health but includes the drug addiction, and peace and order situations. There’s a possible that you could experience the bad smell, flies and other insects that moving around the communities. Also trash and garbage is a major source of pollution.

There are also some people especially kids, who wanted to swim in the sea with full of garbage, trash and waste of human. Also there are young people and kids who do the same instead of going to school due to poverty and most of the children are malnourished. Those who lived at that area risk their lives every day just to have a place to stay or a land to live. (Marjorie Seno, July 28, 2013) Garbage is very harmful to our environment. It poses dangerous risks to our land, water, and air. Landfills overfilling with the garbage destroy profitable land, and take many years to regain the nutrients and the land destroyed.

Sewage water poured into oceans poison fish and other marine wildlife. Emissions that come out of cars limit the amount of air and oxygen we have to breathe. As you can see, garbage is harmful to our environment. (Jeffrey A. Lin, September 12, 2011) According to Dr. Sattar, if the garbage produced by families Is not properly discarded, it can cause the outbreak of serious illnesses. Meanwhile, if it is left in open air it can contaminate the environment, spreads with the flow of wind, enters into body through breathing and can cause dangerous diseases.

It also mixes with the open food and beverages sold on roads causes’ typhoid, nausea and vomiting. (Dr. Sattar, January 27, 2011) In the scenario, the people living in the Purok #6, Tambcan, Iligan City were not aware of the danger they are facing: too much garbage along with the unhealthy smell cause deadly sickness. This study aims to tell them about the consequences they are facing while living with the piles of garbages. And with this research, it may be able to help them and give them some solution on how to prevents this kind of problem.
