1.2- Description of one Activity

Free drawing is when babies hold a wax crayon and scribble all over the paper, they can get different colours and scribble and they won’t get tired by doing this. Moreover the babies have loads of fun scribbling and they enjoy doing it.

1.3- Benefits of Craft Activities.

1. Helps the child to get use to holding a wax crayon.

2. Helps them identify different colours.

3. The child enjoys scribbling because it’s something new to them.

3.1- Learning Opportunities.

Physical – Physically they develop their fine motor skills by gripping hold of a wax crayon. Intellectual – Intellectually they use their brain to think where to draw. Language – When the baby is scribbling he/she may make sound as “go go ga ga”… because they are enjoying what they are doing. Emotional – Emotionally the babies will feel so happy when they are drawing because they are experiencing something new. Social – Socially the babies will look at other babies work and join them and scribble together.

1. Texture Rubbing – Indoor (Use floor, shapes etc)

1.2- Description of one Activity

Texture rubbing is when any 1 or 2 years old get any colour wax crayon and a tracing paper and rub on any indoor equipment. Such as rubbing on the floor, the patterns on the spoons, shapes, leafs, or any other equipment. The children will enjoy this activity because they will be excited of what kind of shape it will be when they rub on that item.

3.1- Learning Opportunities.

Physical – Physically the children are using their gross motor to move around the room. Intellectual – The children are using their imagination to think what pattern it will make when they rub on that item. Language – The children will tell their friends to go and rub that item. Emotional – Emotionally the children will feel excited to know what pattern it will make when they rub on that item. Social – Socially they will interact with other children and help each other.

1.2- Description of one Activity

Chevron is an interesting activity which only 5 years and over children are able to do. You need a paper, a pencil and a pair of scissors to make chevron, all you need to do is fold the A4 paper in half and draw a pair of diagonal lines and leave some space and continue drawing some more lines, then you cut the lines and open the paper and it makes an amazing pattern.

1.3- Benefits of Craft Activities.

1. Being able cut safely and gets a hold of scissors.

2. Learning how to make a something new.

3. Experimenting with paper.

3.1- Learning Opportunities.

Physical – Physically they will be using their fine motor skill to get a grasp of the scissors. Intellectual – Intellectually the children will be focusing their mind on how to make it and observing other people how to make it. Language – Learning new words to add to their vocabulary and see how they use these words in a sentence. Social – Socially they will communicate with their teachers and ask them for assistance. Emotional – Emotionally they will feel overjoyed when they made the final product.
