The internet can be argued about by many people whether it’s a helpful source of information and educational or a waste of time and unnecessary. There are people in the world that don’t know what the internet really is or what it is really used for. What would have happened if the internet was never invented? Would our everyday lives be different? And what about the good positive outcomes of the internet? The internet is a key factor of our society and is also a big role in government. Internet is basically a connection between networks, whereby networks are connections between computers.
It’s simply a giant network of computers, which sometimes can be reffered to as the Net. It helps link tons of bussinesses, people, goverment agencies, and people from across the globe. The interent has many uses which can range from acting as a source of infromation to a way of communnication. It can be thought of as an unlimited way of storing and sharing information between people, corporations, or govrments. The idea of Internet was first developed by the Advanced Research Projects Agency or ARPA of the US Department of Defense. ARPA, which was a group under the Pentagon, had an objective to build a network that would allow scientists at different locations to share their information and work together on military and scientific projects.
The network was called ARPANET and it started to operate for the first time in September 1969. The initial ARPANET was known as Wide Area Network (WAN), which consisted of four main computers, one of each located at the University of California at Los Angeles, the Stanford Research Institute, the University of California at Santa Barbara, and the University of Utah. Each of these four computers was used as the meeting points for network hosts.
A host could store and transfers data and messages on high-speed communication lines and becomes a supplier of network connections for other computers. This a big success and the birth of what we call today the Interent. ARPANET connected computers at research sites supported by government, universities, and also linked scientific and academic researchers in the United States. It was also known as one of the first multipurpose computer networks. Inevitable, ARPANET soon became an essential piece of infrastructure for the research community, especially in the field of computer science throughout the United States.
The Internet has become very important in today’s society. The Internet connects people from around the world on a daily basis. The Internet is used for communication, trading, buying, and selling of stocks. Since its is used for many puposes, people depened on it for everything because it literaly has everything. Any question you might have, the internet will always will find an answer. That could be a really helpful/useful way to be educated on a certain topic. The interent has evolved since it’s creation and is now used more than ever. People’s lives are on the internet that can be viewed in different aspects.
People needed a way to communicate with each other so the e-mail was created. It allowed people to send messages to be sent privately to each other. Then people felt in need to create a social media website for friends, family and relatives to chat and share photos, so a couple of Harvard students decided to create “Facebook”. It was a great success and inspired many other people and companies to create their own websites such as blogs, other social media sources and up-to-date information on the latest news. The Internet is also vital to the advertisement industry.
The Internet has caused a revolution in the way businesses are being conducted in the 21st century. Businesses all across the world are making money through trading and communicating within seconds on the web. The Internet helps companies, businesses, and also individuals make money in a variety of ways, and some are simply as posting something you want to sell adn people contact you to buy it. You advertise yourself by posting it on websites that attract much attention. Now think on a mcuh larger scale what companies today do to advertise. Some corportaion spend million and some even billions in ads so they prommote their product, idea, or goverment support.
Many individuals are turning to the Internet these days allowing the Internet Corporation to make billions of dollars. If companies are loosing a great deal of money on advertising, they would not continue to advertise on the Internet. In fact, they make so much money, that the money they spend on promoting is nothing compared to the profit they make. The invention of the internet has changed the way of living for the majority of the world. It has been becoming more and more popluar due to the fact of the new things that keep on popping every now and then.
Occasionally, a new source of social media starts becoming popluar and more and more people start being attracted to it. People spend hours upon hours on that website until eventually it gets old and boring, Then, once again a new social media website is created and the cycle begins once again. Another that the internet is very popluar is due to its unlimited supply on information on everything imaginable. Someone can simply type something into a search engine and bam, about a million websites with information regarding the information you typed.
That can range from a simple question to a complex definition. It is also a great source of information on all topics that maybe be needed to be research. There is so much information to gather from the internet because it is literary an unlimited supply of great information. A huge factor that causes the internet to be so popluar is its ability to entertain people. There are many websites that are very fun that allow people to play games and listen to music. Things like that cause people to be attracted and become addicted to keep going back to the internet. Government has a tendency to always get involved in everything.
Sometimes it’s for a good reason, but sometimes they are just pushing it. The internet isn’t strictly regulated by government but is censored. Some websites must include warnings and other messages if the goverment feel it should be viewed by certain people. And if they feel a certain page or even a website violate a law or is too inappropiate, they will shut it down and can not be retuned ever. That can be good in most cases where violent things should not viewed or secert/private information should remain unseen. So the goverment doesn’t exactly regulate the internet, nut more like monitor and censor what they feel is wrong and unnecessary.
Many people argue whether the interent is used more as a source of information or as a need for personal pleasure. There is no real way to determine the truth behind those statements because there are too many factors to consider. Like how often are people on it and for how long people use it. Plus, some people use it for equal amounts as a source of pleasure and information. Due to the fact that we can track each person individually, we can only assume what poeple use it for.
There are tons of websites that are a huge source of information and help give of important lessons, as well as providing research papers/ experiments. There are also a huge amount of websites created for the soul purpose of enteratining people. The most common people that use the internet are teens. Teens are highly attracted to the internet due to all the things that it’s made for and how often they have access to it. Almost all teens have their own personal cell phone and the majority of those cell phones are smart phones with internet access just like that.
Teens have internet everywhere they go and use all the time becuase it fits their style best. The internet is intended to be used for people of all ages but is mostly used by teens. Since companies advertise and they know teens roam the internet the most, they tend to advertise things towards teens because they are the biggest consumers and make them all their profit. There isn’t a specific group within the teen ages the internet is mostly made for, because there are many different branches for all sorts of teens. Baran, Stanley J.
