I. Company ProfileCaltex is a petroleum brand name of Chevron Corporation used in more than 60 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, and southern Africa. It was began in the year 1936 as the California Texas Oil Company, a joint venture between the Texas Company (later named Texaco) and Standard Oil of California (later named Chevron) to market oil from newly gained concessions in Saudi Arabia. It was renamed Caltex Petroleum Corporation in 1968.
The two parent companies merged in 2001 to form ChevronTexaco (renamed Chevron in 2005) and Caltex remains one of its major international brand names. Caltex in the Philippines was established in 1917 when Texas Company began marketing its products in the Philippines through a local distributor, Wise and Co. In 1921, Texaco (Philippines) was formally established and opened its office in Binondo, Manila. Eleven years later, its Pandacan oil depot was converted into a key distribution terminal to bring products by barge to nearby provinces.
In 1985, Domingo B. Añes founded the Caltex Branch along the National Highway in San Fernando City, La Union. This was their first family business. It was named Añes Caltex Station and was managed by Mr. Añes for 25 long years. The business had ceased its operation in the year 2010 for some particular reasons.
The cessation, however, had lasted for a brief period only as the following year paved way for Mr. Añes ‘ daughter, Asuncion D. Añes, to re-establish the enterprise which she renamed Marina Caltex Station. The new business had officially commenced its operation on November 11, 2011 (11/11/11), and is now currently being managed by Asuncion D. Añes and her son Alvin Haider.

The buying decision is emotional for many customers. The task of overcoming a buyer’s objection is assigned to the forecourt attendants specifically because they are the ones who are in direct contact with customers. The key is to create ways to make the customers feel important and offer them information regarding our product and the values.
A well-trained personnel can work towards overcoming our customers’ buying obstacles before they drive to the station. A marketing strategy that emphasizes testimonials, endorsements (word of mouth) and other positive reinforcement devices can not only make the buying decision easier for existing customers but will also attract new customers.
Quality training of personnel is not only our concern, but also a recognition of a job well-done must also be considered in the form of incentives or rewards. This will motivate them to work harder and also inspire others to do the same or even better. Administrator
